What is a brow lift?
Brow lift, also known as eyebrow lift or forehead lift, is a transformative procedure for people who want to reverse the signs of aging. Brow Lifts are done by lifting or stretching the forehead muscles and tissues for a more youthful and elevated appearance. Higher positioned eyebrows and tight forehead skin is the ideal expected result from the Eyebrow Lift.
Why get Eye-Brow Lift Treatment?
The most common reason why eyebrow lifts are chosen are to address aging, wrinkles, creases and/or a drooping brow. Aging is natural which can lead to a tired and worn-out look. This impacts not only the aesthetic appeal but may also restrict your ability to see clearly. The aging process is different person to person. Aging signs may be present from the age of 25 and above.
Brow Lift Techniques:
There are different types of brow lift techniques which are used for different cases.
1. Endoscopic Brow Lift:
- A minimally invasive approach with hidden incisions behind the hairline.
- A surgical telescope is used to lift and enhance the brow.
- Ideal for mild to moderate brow drooping.
2. Temporal Brow Lift:
- 2-3cm hidden incision at the hairline of the temple area.
- Effective for mild brow ptosis, often with no additional downtime.
3. Direct Brow Lift:
- A powerful and effective technique with long-lasting outcomes.
- Involves a scar along the upper brow line, typically hidden.
Note: Other techniques may be used, highlighted above are the 3 most used Brow Lift techniques.
The Brow Lift Process:
The surgery itself takes 1-3 hours. Depending on the technique used, local or general anaesthesia may be used. If general anaesthetic is performed, you will be required to stay 1 night at the hospital for procedures done with Cayra Clinic. This is done to ensure safe recovery after surgery.
Preparing for the Brow Lift:
It is recommended not so smoke nor drink at least 2-3 week to prevent risk of complication during the surgery. Avoid certain medications such as blood thinners/ Aspirins and Birth control.
What to Expect Post-Brow Lift:
Recovery varies, with most patients needing 1-2 weeks off work to rest. Expect some bruising/ swelling and minimal pain. The pain levels peak on average at day 3. Our post-surgery care instructions will guide you through a smooth recovery process.
Addressing Concerns:
- Pain Management: Mild discomfort is common, managed with prescribed pain medication.
